Departure from the hotel to cross the Altiplano (the high plateau) early in the morning. On our way we will make a stop in Curahuara de Carangas village, where we will visit the colonial church known as “Capilla Dieciséis del Altiplano” (Chapell sixteen of the high plateau). We will arrive at Sajama village around the afternoon, then we will start a trek with our muleteer team to our base camp, in which we will appreciate the diverse flora of the place. Set up of our camp and break.

Camping night.

Day 2: BASE CAMP – SAJAMA HIGH CAMP (5700 m.a.s.l.)

At the next morning we will start the climb to the high ground with the help of shepards. After going through the outer side of the mountain, we will take a northwest ridge. A last corridor will take us to our high ground camp.

Camping night.

Day 3: HIGH CAMP – SAJAMA SUMMIT (6542 m.a.s.l.) – BASE CAMP (4700 m.a.s.l.)

In our effort to go to the summit we will start the climb at 2:00 am. The first part is “inconsistent and loose”. After that, we will take a stoned ridge until reaching the snow. Depending on the weather, the glacier might have different size penitents. After going through these difficulties we will arrive to a flat and immense Summit, a crater filled with snow and ice. Descent through the same way to the base camp.

Camping night.

Day 4: BASE CAMP – THERMAL WATERS (Hot Springs) – LA PAZ (3600 m.a.s.l.)

We will go down from the base camp to the Hot Springs to enjoy a well-deserved bath in them. Return to La Paz city in a private vehicle.
