The Western Mountains Range is located northwest at the department of Oruro, in the Sajama province. The area adjoins with the department of La Paz and the border of Chile, its heights go from 4.000 and 6.542 meters.
The Sajama national park is known for its wide plateau area, high andean lagoons and amazing volcanic mountains like Payachatas, Parinacota (6332 m.a.s.l.), Pomerape (6280 m.a.s.l.) and snowed Sajama (6542 m.a.s.l.), the highest mountain in Bolivia.
You will be able to experience a diversified flora and fauna: The queñuas Woods (trees that grow in the highest altitude in the world), elegant vicuñas, lamas, alpacas, suris, and with some luck andean wild cats, pumas and condor. Besides all this, there is a geyser chain (boling slopes), place where you’ll can watch boiling water coming out of the ground and termal waters in open air, both product of the volcanic activity underground.
